Hi! Could you present the band?

I’m Yamasaki Hirokazu, I play guitar. The drummer is Kashikura Takashi. On the guitar there is Mino Takaaki. The bassist is Yamane Satoshi. And on the support keyboard, it’s Keysaki.

How did you decide to form a band?

I was in a band since I was a teenager, but it was a punk-rock band. I wanted to do something else so we became friends and them we started as a band. And we decided to take that different direction.

How would define your music genre?

Everyone is asking me that. People describe our music as math rock or post-rock. But we don’t really intend to make a specific type of music. It’ really up to the listener I they want to define us as a special genre that’s fine. We just don’t to do something specific.

Your last album “Hear You” was released in August 2015, are you planning to release a new album soon? What can you tell us about this?

For now we have a lot of ideas for our next album. But at this point we didn’t really do something. Everything is in our heads.

Before coming to Europe for this tour, what was the thing you were waiting for the most?

We came to Europe for the last time for years ago and, it’s just amazing to see people are supporting us here. We are surprised every time. You know it’s just this great feeling to come and connect with the people in Europe.

What is your best memory from a concert?

I don’t know. I can’t tell you about a specific show. As we are getting older, we forgot everything! But what we remember are the special feelings, and we don’t forget those.

Which one of your songs are you the most proud of?

Each song is my song so you know… I love all of my songs. I can’t choose one.

If you had to choose one of your songs for someone who doesn’t know your music yet, which one would it be?

Now, everyone is expecting us to talk about our first album. But, I will choose “Song Silly” as a song that represents Toe’s music now.

Do you have a message for your French fans?

So far, in Europe, Paris Crowd was the most passionate. There was a very high energy and this was great. And of course you know live performance is all up to the crowd. We really enjoyed the crowd and we appreciate that.

Thank you to toe members for this show and this interview. We also would like to thanks their tour manager for his help with the translation of the interview. Finally thank you to Le Batofar for the organization of the concert.
